Title: Chief Test Architect
About the Job
This is a very senior technical position in our testing organization. The right person for this role will be someone who has years of hands-on experience with a broad range of testing methodologies, tools and techniques, with great interest and knowledge in industry trend, and great passion and energy to lead the organization in innovations.
Responsibilities
· Provide technical leadership and strategic direction to the organization
· Conduct industry trend and market demand analysis, survey competitive landscape, investigate industry best practices
· Lead engineering team to consolidate, design and implement effective and marketable test solutions for various testing segments
· Analyze internal processes and practices and drive improvements
· Impact across organizational boundary to ensure delivery quality and process compliance
· Represent the organization as the testing guru during customer engagement; provide consultation to the customer on how to improve product quality and efficiency by introducing new methodologies and best practices
· Provide guidance and mentorship to the engineering team to build up our test capability
Requirements
· Native English speaker, Mandarin Chinese skill a plus
· In depth knowledge of current industry wide test processes and practices, tools and techniques
· Strong capability to influence and lead, excellent communication skills
· Self-management and self-motivated working style
· 8+ years of testing experience with software products and hardware devices, has shipped multiple large commercial products
· Proven expertise in at least 5 of these key testing fields:
o Unit Testing
o Functionality Testing
o I18N / Localization Testing
o Mobile Device and App Testing
o Web Application Testing
o Certification (WHQL, USB, Wi-Fi, RF etc) Testing
o Exploratory Testing
o Inter-op and compatibility
o IT / ERP Application Testing
o Performance Testing
o Security Testing
o System Integration Testing
o User Acceptance Testing
o Regionalization/In-Market and Field Testing
o Usability Testing
o Test Automation
o Testing-as-a-Service
o Agile Testing
o Crowd Testing
· Strong knowledge of COTS, Open-source or proprietary testing automation frameworks and tools such as Mercury Tools (QTP, Test Runner, Load Runner), Selenium, FoneMonkey etc, with proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of automated testing solutions.
· Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, JavaScript, Windows and UNIX shell scripting.
· Good understanding of web and mobile technologies. Such as HTML, CSS, XML, HTTP, iOS, Android SDK etc.
· Good understanding of product development life cycle. Software development experiences a plus.
· Experiences with VM solutions from Citrix, VMware and Microsoft a plus.
Education
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, software engineering or related fields
· PMP/Scrum Master a plus
